A Letter from the President
July 28, 2007
Howdy,
As President of Northeast Tarrant County (NETC) Aggie Mom’s Club for 2007-08, I want to welcome you to our organization and to a year of exciting meetings and events in support of our students at Texas A&M University. It is without hesitation that I tell you that NETC Aggie Mom’s is a dynamic organization that cares about you and the comfort and welfare of your sons and daughters. In addition to serving as President, I am the proud Mom of two Aggies, Andrea – Class of ’06 and Lindsay – Class of ’08. It has been my privilege to be a member of Aggie Mom’s for three years, and I have seen the support and generosity of the Club that benefits all Aggie families.
Involvement in NETC Aggie Mom’s allows you to learn about Texas A&M and its honored traditions and to develop many friendships. Aggie Moms have been a tradition at Texas A&M University since 1922. There are 126 clubs nationwide, and our chapter is beginning its 11th year with over 150 members. We have many events planned for this year to help support our students and uphold the traditions of TAMU. The events include:
-
The Aggie Moms’ Camp on November 9 – 11 in College Station
-
NETC Aggie Mom’s Scholarship Golf Scramble on October 17 at Iron Horse Golf Course in North Richland Hills
-
Goodie Bags for students during finals and holidays
-
Providing scholarships and supporting on-campus student organizations
-
Ride shares and networking for students and Moms
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of every month (September through May), at 7:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Hurst, 1801 Norwood Drive. We provide informative programs related to life at Texas A&M, time for networking with other Aggie Moms, and refreshments always.
Once again, WELCOME! We are looking forward to a great year and many opportunities to support your Aggies in their exciting journey at Texas A&M University.
Gig ‘Em!
